Four Hundred Thousand defence employees will go on three-day strike at 41 Ordnance Factories and other defence establishments to drive their four-point demands before the Indian Government from 23-25 January.

The countrywide strike has been called by the Confederation of three central trade unions, All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF), Indian National Defence Workers Federation (INDWF) and Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh (BPMS).
Through the strike trade unions will press demands for withdrawal of the decision to declare the products of the Ordnance Factories as non-core, no closure of EME station workshops and depots under Director General Ordnance Services, no GOCO model of Army Base Workshop and no outsourcing in MES, DRDO, DGQA and Navy and fill up all vacancies in all the defence establishments.
In order to ensure success of the strike a grand public meeting of Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK), Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ), Grey Iron Foundry (GIF), Military Engineering Service (MES), 506 Army Base Workshop and other defence establishments was organised at Satpula crossing.
National President of AIDEF S N Pathak, National General Secretary B Guha Thakurta, INDWF, National Vice-president, Arun Dubey, BPMS, National Organisation Secretary, Narendra Tiwari and representatives defence civilian employees of different defence employees and a large number of employees were present.
Addressing the public meeting, S N Pathak informed that Ordnance Factories have played a key role in the victory of India Army, Navy and Air Force in different wars by feeding ammunition, weapons and other resources to armed forces.
Now, the Government of India is trying to shut down and restrain the strength of Ordnance Factories under an alleged conspiracy to provide an undue advantage to corporate houses. It is the first time in the history of India when all the trade unions have been united to strongly press their demands to get their rights and protection of ordnance factories.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Dubey, B Guha Thakurta and Narendra Tiwari have warned the Government of India and Ministry of Defence for staging an indefinite strike in coming days in case of not fulfilling their demands and stopping conspiracy against Ordnance Factories.
