4 Militants Killed In Kashmir Gun Battle With Indian Soldiers

Four Kashmiri militants have been killed by the Indian soldiers in a fierce gun battle in Watrigam village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. No SPO’s were killed, as initially reported by the EurAsian Times.

The J&K Police confirmed the killing of the militants belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in the encounter which began early morning.

A joint team of the army’s 19 RR and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Watergam near Dialgam, reported news agency GNS.

The security forces acting on precise intelligence blocked the entry points of all the villages, including Achabal and Anantnag and conducted door-to-door searches.

As the security forces cornered the house, where the terrorists were holed up, the terrorists opened fire initiating the encounter. As earlier reported by the EurAsian Times, no special force officers were killed.

An official identified the slain militants as Muzaffar Ahmad and Umar Ahmad from Sopat village of Kulgam and Gulzar Ahmad from Tarigam village and Sajad Ahmad from Tengbal Frisal village of Kulgam.
