After Wax Statue, Pakistan Now Releases A Song On Abhinandan & His Downed Jet

After creating a wax statue of IAF Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman and celebrating what Islamabad terms as ‘Surprise Day’ the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has gone one step ahead and released a new song celebrating the dowing of an Indian jet last year.

The song Allah-o-Akbar – sung by Shuja Haider – which claims to commemorate the courage of soldiers of the PAF who are ready to weather all storms and ready to shield their nation all costs, Radio Pakistan reported.

Earlier, the PAF also long-housed the waxed-statue of Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured after his MiG-21 jet shot down. The pilot was later handed over to Indian authorities within almost 48 hours after New Delhi launched a massive, but covert diplomatic offensive and threatened to escalate the matter.

Earlier, as EurAsian Times reported, Pakistan installed a life-sized statue of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman — complete with his signature moustache in the PAF Museum in Karachi. After his capture, the Pakistani military released a video showing him sipping a cup of tea and politely refusing to answer questions.

The exhibit also includes parts of the fuselage and tail of Varthaman’s aircraft as well as a tea mug — though apparently not the same one the pilot was seen sipping from. The gallery also includes images re-enacting the moment his jet was shot down, and photographs showing him being handed back to India at the Wagah border.

Later, as EurAsian Times reported, Pakistan declared that the country will celebrate ‘Surprise Day’ on February 27 after the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) downed an Indian fighter jet. “The sole purpose of this action was to demonstrate our right, will and capability for self-defence. We do not wish to escalate, but we’re fully prepared if forced into that paradigm,” the Foreign Office had said in a statement.
