China Leads The Way in Kartarpur Corridor Project in Pakistan

The work on the Kartarpur corridor is being aggressively implemented on the Pakistan side. The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) is executing the Kartarpur corridor project which will bring in a large number of Sikh pilgrims and revenues to Pakistan.

According to sources that EurAsian Times talked to, heavy earthmoving machines many of which belong to Chinese companies are being used to make the corridor a reality. “Nearly 35% work is already complete and the entire project should get completed by September 2019.

The Pakistan government is developing a master plan of the area which will have hotels, lodges and other housing facilities for the pilgrims which will generate substantial revenues for cash-starved Pakistan.

Kartarpur Corridor; Victory for Peace or Promoting Khalistani Terrorism?

Pakistan PM Imran Khan had laid the foundation stone for Kartarpur corridor on November 28 last year which was attended by two Union ministers from India — Hardeep Singh Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal besides Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Indian security experts claim that Pakistan has been working on the K2 Policy i.e. Kashmir and Khalistan. The Kashmir movement is already ignited but Islamabad is looking to re-ignite the Khalistan movement and revive insurgency in Punjab. Pakistan experts that EurAsian Times talked to counter-claim that India could also use its spies to infiltrate into Pakistan and foment trouble in the region.

Earlier, China had stated that Beijing was glad to see good interaction between India and Pakistan on opening the Kartarpur corridor, allowing Indian Sikhs to visit the holy shrine in Kartarpur.

Beijing also said the stable ties between New Delhi and Islamabad meant a lot to world peace and hoped that both sides could solve their differences through dialogue. “We are glad to see this good interaction between Pakistan and India.

Both countries are important in South Asia and the stability of the relations means a lot to the world peace and development,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told the media. “We sincerely hope that these two countries can strengthen coordination and dialogue properly and address their difference and improve their relations for stability and peace,” he added.
