Chinese Commanding Officer Was Also Killed In Border Clashes In Galwan Valley- Beijing Admits

Chinese Army officials have reportedly confirmed that a Commanding officer was killed in the Galwan Valley border clashes on June 15. The border clash between India and Chinese army also left an Indian Commanding officer dead along with 19 other soldiers.

China had previously admitted they had casualties but had not published the numbers. During the military talks between the officers of the Indian Army and the PLA, it was confirmed by the Chinese side that one of their Commanding Officer had died in the Galwan Valley clash, various media houses reported.

Earlier, after China released ten Indian soldiers, a top retired Indian general had also claimed that India also returned the captured Chinese soldiers while signalling that the country “will to stand up to an aggressive China.”

Early this week in Ladakh’s Galwan valley, soldiers from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Indian Army were engaged in a fearsome clash which led to the death of 20 Indian soldiers and unconfirmed casualties on the Chinese side.

India’s former Army chief Gen VK Singh claimed that even India had captured Chinese soldiers who had crossed over to the Indian side during the violent clash on June 15. 

China had recently returned 10 soldiers to India on Thursday that they had detailed post the clashes. The 10 soldiers included 2 majors and 2 captains who safely returned to their respective sides. “Similarly, we returned their men (Chinese soldiers) who had come to our side,” tells the former general.
