CSTO Countries Military Drill – “Unbreakable Brotherhood 2018” Starts in Russia

The joint military drill of six CSTO countries “Unbreakable Brotherhood 2018” will start in the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg. The active phase of military drills starts on November 2 with nearly 1300 troops from six countries scheduled to take part.

The press service of the Russian Central Military District declared that “The opening ceremony will be held in the military town of Yekaterinburg. The ceremony will be attended by the Chief of CSTO Joint Staff Gen. Col. Anatoly Sidorov and soon after the drill will begin with full force.”

The peacekeeping forces of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries will exercise the observation of ceasefire regime in the area of accountability, aiding in a renewal of the peaceful life on territories formerly held by terrorists, as well as functioning with police to counter mass disorder.

Combat Brotherhood 2018 strategic exercise is the main event of operational and combat training of the Collective Forces of the Security Treaty Organization and is conducted in accordance with the Joint Operational and Combat Training Plan for the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2018.

Practice will take place at the Sverdlovsky training range outside Yekaterinburg.

“Unbreakable Brotherhood 2018” is packed with military drills involving 300 units of military equipment and 20 aircraft, plus unmanned aerial vehicles.

Earlier, it was said that nearly 300 servicemen from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have reached in Yekaterinburg. Servicemen from the Central Military District, including peacekeeping units, reconnaissance, aviation, and military police will represent Russia in this drill.
