DRDO Equips Indian Tanks With Enhanced Night Vision Amid Tensions With Pakistan

In order to bolster the Indian Army’s combat strengths, the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) has developed indigenous thermal imaging and day sight equipment for the Indian army tanks. This equipment developed by the DRDO  will enable the tanks to have a sharper night vision than ever before giving a substantial edge over regional adversaries.

DRDO Equipment To Be Installed In T-90 & T-72 tanks

This thermal imaging and day sight equipment developed by the DRDO will be used in T-72 and T-90 tanks of the Indian Army. This will give the tanks a crystal clear night vision even in pitch dark hence giving it leverage over the enemy.

This equipment can be used for both, day and night time operations to render precision like never before as stated by the DRDO officials. This technology also has a salient feature of providing superior image processing at any given time of the day.

The equipment developed by DRDO will have a 3 km range to set eyes on the target. The new technology will replace the image intensive tubes used to enhance night vision for tanks.
