Forget Jammu & Kashmir, Save Pakistan-Administered Kashmir From India: Bilawal Bhutto To Imran Khan

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto attacked PM Imran Khan and said that earlier Pakistan would talk about snatching Srinagar from India, but now it has become difficult to even save Muzaffarabad.

Addressing a gathering, Bhutto, who is chief of the main opposition party in Pakistan, said, “Earlier our policy on Kashmir would be on how to grab Srinagar, now it is about how to save Muzaffarabad.”

Muzaffarabad is the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir or Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (as India calls it) or Azad (Free) Kashmir as it is known in Pakistan. Bhutto criticised Imran Khan government’s ineffective policies for the current state of affairs.

This comes a day after PM Narendra Modi met US President Donald Trump and the both agreed that Kashmir is a bilateral matter. Imran Khan addressed the nation and said Pakistan will go to any extent for Kashmir and asserted that Islamabad wouldn’t be afraid of using its nuclear powers for Kashmir.

Recently Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had said that the Modi government’s decision to revoke Article 370 was is an internal matter and while Pakistan is trying to internationalise the issue, India is now only interested in discussing Pakistan administered Kashmir with Pakistan.

Ever since the August 5 decision of abrogation of Article 370, Imran Khan has knocked on the doors of the global community, including United Nations and countries such as the US, Saudi Arabia, Russia and others. However, although some countries expressed concerns regarding the tension between India and Pakistan, all agreed and maintained that Kashmir is a bilateral matter between India and Pakistan with no scope for mediation.
