Rahul Dravid, the former Indian captain was on Sunday inducted to the ICC Hall of Fame. Rahul Dravid became only the 5th Indian cricketer to be added to the ICC Hall of Fame. Other Indians to have received this honour from ICC are Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble and Bishan Singh Bedi. Rahul Dravid was added to the ICC Hall of Fame along with the former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Claire Taylor from England.

Rahul Dravid: ‘The Wall ‘
Rahul Dravid who was popularly called ‘The Wall’ is one of the greatest batsmen the world has ever seen. His induction to the ICC Hall of Fame is a matter of great pride for Indian Cricket. The former Indian captain played 164 test matches for India and 344 One Day Internationals. He scored 13,288 runs at a staggering average of 52.3 in test cricket while he scored 10,889 runs in ODIs with an average just below 40. He is one of the greatest players to have ever played for India and one of the most gentle cricketers ever.
Rahul Dravid expressed his joy in a video message
Rahul Dravid in a video message expressed his happiness over this honour. He said that he feels great and privileged to have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. He further added that he feels privileged to be in the group of people he has always looked up to as being a young guy. Rahul Dravid then thanked his parents, wife, family, friends, coaches and colleagues for being by his side always. He was not able to attend the honouring ceremony since he is in England with the India A team.
Ricky Ponting, the former captain of the Aussies also made it to the ICC Hall of Fame. Ponting has played 168 test matches for Australia and 375 One Day Internationals. He is one of the greatest captains in Australian cricket ever. He has scored more than 13,000 runs in both the formats.
