India-Pakistan Ceasefire Violation Claims Precious Lives on Both the Sides

The India-Pakistan dispute has been going on for a long time and despite various attempts to de-escalate the India-Pakistan tensions, all attempts have failed. 2 Civilians Killed by Indian BSF: Pakistan Media

An elderly woman and a minor girl were killed and 24 others injured in mortar shelling by the Border Security Force (BSF) on villages along the Working Boundary as per Pakistani Dawn Newspaper.

Local administration officials said the firing began in the early hours of Sunday morning and continued throughout the day. Fazalaan Bibi, 60, died when mortar shells hit her dwelling in Kachi Maand village. Nargis Fatima, the five-year-old kid, also a resident of Kachi Maand, was rushed to the Sialkot CMH with head injuries where she later succumbed.

CEO of Sialkot District Health Authority Dr Latif Sahi said the injured were taken to the Sialkot Com­bined Military Hospital in critical condition by the personnel of Rescue 1122 after initial treatment at the rural health center. They said dozens of buffaloes, cows and goats were also killed in the Indian shelling.

2 Indian Border Forces Killed in Ceasefire Violation: Indian Media

Earlier, Indian Times of India reported that nearly a week after the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan agreed to implement the ceasefire pact of 2003, Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing along the international border, killing two BSF personnel.

The firing from across the international border in the Akhnoor sector started in the wee hours, resulting in critical injuries to two BSF personnel and manning a forward post, a senior officer of BSF told the PTI.

He said both the personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, later succumbed to injuries. The firing from across the border in violation of the ceasefire agreement prompted a strong and effective retaliation by the BSF, the officer said.
