India Pakistan News is something that the world keenly listens to. In a recent report, India-Pakistan Relations might be on the road towards normalization, as Pakistan Army has acknowledged that without robust India-Pakistan relations, Pakistan economy cannot prosper, and peace cannot be maintained.
Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa understands that the way to peace and prosperity in Pakistan is through military collaboration with India, according to TOI and a report published by UK-based think-tank Royal Unites Services Institute (RUSI).
According to the report, Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa invited Sanjay Vishwasrao, the Indian military attaché to the Pakistan Day Army parade in Islamabad. Later, General Bajwa declared that the Pakistan Army wanted peace and dialogue with New Delhi.
An indication that the two long-time opponents, India and Pakistan, might be cosying up, the two countries will also take part in joint military exercises in Russia under the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization).
There is a change in attitude since General Bajwa became the Pakistan Army Chief in November 2016. The offer of peace talks by Pakistani Army has been welcomed by New Delhi, as India understands that without the backing of Pakistan Army, peace is not really possible between India and Pakistan.
The report also stated that Major General Ahmed Hayat, the Director General of analysis wing of the Inter-Services-Intelligence (ISI), penned the India Peace Plan in 2013, which examined the possible ways Pakistan could approach India. As per the report, Pakistani Army would negotiate with India once Pakistan was ready for talks, and not under the pressure from the US.
