Indian Singh to be Become Canadian King (Prime Minister)?

A 38-year-old Sikh in Canada, Jagmeet Singh has been elected the leader of the New Democratic Party. Jagmeet Singh has become the first Indian origin politician to lead a major political party in Canada. After the victory, he tweeted – Thank You New Democrats, the Prime minister’s race starts from now. He said that he has officially started his campaign from today to become the next Prime Minister of Canada.

Jagmeet Singh’s party might win Canadian Elections in 2019

Ontario’s resident MP Jagmeet Singh has been elected the leader of the party on the basis of the first vote to lead the party against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party in the election of 2019. He won 53.6 percent of the votes and won three more candidates in this decisive first poll. The fond of colorful turban, leading a major political party in this country, is the first member of the minority community.

At present, there is a serious challenge to reinstate that party, which lost 59 seats in the 2015 elections. Singh said that this campaign has got a new enthusiasm in our party. The New Democratic Party is currently third in the Canadian Parliament with 44 out of 338 total seats. This party has never come to power. According to The Globe and Mail, Singh said he would focus his attention on climate change, reconciliation with ethnic people and election reforms etc.

Born in Scarborough, Ontario in the year 1979, Singh’s parents came to Canada from Indian Punjab. He graduated in 2001 from the University of Western Ontario in Biology, and in 2005 received a law degree from the University of York’s Osgood Hall Law School. Prior to joining politics, he worked as a lawyer in Greater Toronto area. The share of Sikhs in Canada’s population is about 1.4 percent. The Defense Minister of Canada also comes from the Sikh community.
