The Russian Air Force is expected to get 76 Su-57 fighter jets. The advanced fifth-generation multirole fighter jet is expected to boost the domestic Aerospace Force’s combat capabilities,” the statement says. The first fighter jet will be delivered to the Russian Air Force before the end of 2019.

The Su-57 is a fifth-generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all ariel targets at long and short distances and hit enemy ground and naval targets, overcoming its air defence batteries.

Russia Persuading India To Buy Sukhoi Su-57 Stealth Fighter Jet On Technology Sharing Basis

The Su-57 took to the skies for the first time on January 29, 2010. Compared to its predecessors, the Su-57 combines the functions of an attack plane and a fighter jet while the use of composite materials and innovation technologies, as well as the fighter’s aerodynamic configuration, ensure the low level of radar and infrared signature. The plane’s armament will include, in particular, hypersonic missiles. The fifth-generation fighter jet has been successfully tested in combat conditions in Syria.

Earlier, as EurAsian Times reported, India can explore the possibility of purchasing the Russian SU-57 Fighter Jet over French Rafales and American F-21 (which Washington is offering to India)? Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa recently stated that India could still consider Russian, Fifth Generation, SU-57 Stealth Fighter Jet after it enters service with the Russian Air Force.

When enquired about the chance of India participating in the development of fighter-jet with Russia, Dhanoa said the Russian fifth-generation fighter was not really being considered yet. “When it (SU-57) is already put into service with Russia, only then New Delhi can decide. We are ready to consider it for acquisition after we see it in the case,” Dhanoa noted.
