Indian Security Agencies Fear More Attacks In Kashmir Amid Communication Blockade

Senior Hurriyat leader of Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Ghani Butt has urged the international community and the global human rights organizations to address the miseries of ‘imprisoned’ Kashmiri people.

In a statement in Srinagar on Sunday, Ghani said the lockdown imposed by India since 5th of August this year has made the lives of Kashmiri people terrible. Meanwhile, the situation Kashmir valley and parts of Jammu region has become worst due to the continued closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway.

Additionally, as earlier reported by the Hindustan Times, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) of India which is deployed in the volatile Jammu and Kashmir has warned New Delhi about the extended lockdown in the region may give people a fresh chance “to start a new wave of protests and armed struggle”.

Why Kashmiri Pandits Might Never Return To Kashmir Again?

The CRPF has also warned New Delhi regarding Pakistan backed terror groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen recently held a meeting somewhere in South Kashmir’s Pulwama where it was agreed that JeM will target security forces on highways; LeT will carry out attacks on interior security installations, and HM carry out police/political killings, as per HT reports.

Meanwhile, the ban on internet, text messaging and prepaid mobile connections is still in place and the restoration of some communications restrictions, such as landline phones and postpaid mobile services, could not provide any respite to the people.

Not Nuclear Bombs, But Climate Change The Biggest Threat To India, Pakistan, China

Due to continued blockade, people could not stock essential materials for the harsh winter as Srinagar-Jammu Highway, the only land link of the region remains closed for most of the season.
