Informers and Precise Intelligence Key To Elimination of Militants in Kashmir: J&K Police

With the elimination of eight militants in Kashmir including a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) by the Indian security forces, a senior police officer on said the anti-militancy operations are successful because of vital intelligence referring to the flow of information emanating from the local sources.

“There have been many anti-militancy operations in the Kashmir Valley. Eight militants have been killed in these operations in last two days. The operations have taken place without any collateral damage,” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order and Security Muneer Ahmad Khan told reporters.

“Due to vital information and inputs, precise operations are taking place”.”The success rate of anti-militancy operations depends on the intelligence we receive.

Eight militants including a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Abu Maaz were killed in three anti-militancy operations by the Indian security forces in Kashmir Valley in past two days.

On Thursday six militants were eliminated in two anti-militancy operations – Kreeri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and Arwani in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Two more militants including LeT commander Abu Maaz were killed in another encounter with security forces in Sopore, Rafiabad area of north Kashmir on Friday.

From Sunday, 13 militants including scholar-turned-Hizb militant Sabzar Sofi have been killed in encounters with security forces in different areas of the Kashmir Valley.
