Will this be End of Islamic State led by Baghdadi?

The Iraqi military forces have been engaged with the Islamic State terrorists ever since the ISIS invaded the lands of Iraq three years ago. However, as of now, it does seem that the brutal invasion of the Islamic State lunatics has been wiped out completely by the Iraqi military forces.

Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone saw the military parade of the Iraqi forces in celebration of the final victory over Islamic State on Sunday, with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi looking on as troops marched in formation, their bodies spelling “victory day” in Arabic.

The Iraqi forces wiped out the last areas of Islamic State control from the terrorists and recaptured the border area with Syria on Saturday along with the western desert, marking the end of the war against the militants three years after they had captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.

Will Islamic State led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Retaliate Again?

The state television showed PM Abadi sitting on a chair similar to that of a throne between two Iraqi flags with the country’s official seal behind him, and with all other officials sat at a distance from him.

Iraq has now declared Dec. 10 as the annual national holiday of Iraq. Fighter jets were seen piercing the clear blue skies of Baghdad with deafening acceleration noise. Abadi Stood up and waived as the announcer introduced various factions who took on the Islamic State as troops.

However, he did not mention at once about the Peshmerga in his victory speech who played the pivotal role in the fight against Islamic State.

The central government in Baghdad is in conflict with the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government after the latter unilaterally held an independence referendum in September. Abadi hailed the Iranian-trained and backed Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), a group of Shi’ite militias, many of whom are loyal to Iran.

The man who was considered weak and ineffectual when he took over in 2014 now heads towards an election next year as the commander who freed Iraqi lands.Or as one Western diplomat described him – “the most popular man in Iraq.”
