Apart from India and Israel in this exercise, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Poland will also participate. This is the first time that India has sent its troops to participate in any maneuvers in Israel. After this year’s visit of PM Narendra Modi to Israel, the relations between the two nations are on very good terms.

An official told that the Blue Flag is a multilateral maneuver. Through this, there is a goal of strengthening military cooperation between the participating countries. This exercise, which will be held on the Uvda Air Force Base, will help the countries to share their experience and expertise especially needed in war times.

India is the number one importer of arms and ammunition from Israel accounting for more than 41% of country’s export between 2012 and 2016. With a share of 7.2% imports, Israel was the third-largest manufacturer of arms between 2012 and 2016, next to the US (14 percent) and Russia (68 percent).
