Tourism in Bulgaria is a vital revenue generator for the nation’s economy. Angelkova attended the meeting of the National Council of Tourism, hosted by “St.St.Konstantin and Elena” resort near Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna. The practical decision is that the amount of national advertising budget of our the nation will remain the same as this year, the tourism minister said.
According to Angelkova, the ministry will work to raise the funds by about 2 million BGN. For the period January – May the expansion of tourists in Bulgaria is 11.1% compared to last year, added Angelkova. She noted out that at that time the earnings from the tourism sector yielded over BGN 1.6 billion, the amount having increased by about 11% compared to last year. There is anticipation in the increase in the number of international tourists during the summer season to be about 5%, the minister said.
Israel Attracts Indian Tourists
As EurAsian Times reported earlier, Indian tourists continue to throng Israel which witnessed a growth of 82% from January to June in the last three years. Over 40,000 Indian tourists travelled to Israel in the last six months, according to Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT). Israel also witnessed a massive 17,800 arrivals of Indian visitors with 115% growth in May 2018, compared to 8,300 visitors in May 2015.
