The war between the US and Iran will become “unfair” to both countries, as it will be provoked by “outsiders.” This was stated by one of the most influential Iranian politicians, the deputy of the Mejlis (parliament) of Iran Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh told Radio Farda.

Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh who earlier headed parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission was known as a hardliner politician but in recent months he has drifted toward a more moderate position, closer to President Hassan Rouhani. Falahatpisheh is not in the newly elected parliament and will vacate his seat by June.
In an interview with Iran-based Borna news agency on April 4, Falahatpisheh said that currently “Iran and the US have strangely come close to war” and the main problem is, “they obtain information about each other indirectly, through third parties”.

Falahapisheh did not name the third party, however, Iranian officials often blame Israel and Saudi Arabia of instigating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Earlier, as EurAsian Times reported, Iran had recently stated that it “only acts in self-defence” after US President Donald Trump warned it against attacks on US troops in Iraq. Tensions between the rivals swelled in Iraq where the US stationed Patriot air defence missiles, provoking Iran to warn of consequences and demand a US withdrawal.

“Unlike the US — which surreptitiously lies, cheats & assassinates — Iran only acts in self-defence,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted. “Don’t be misled by usual warmongers, AGAIN,” he said, addressing Trump. “Iran starts no wars but teaches lessons to those who do,” he added.
