Israeli Army Conducts Air Strikes In Response To Explosives Launched From Gaza

The Israeli army has confirmed about air strikes conducted as a response to explosive devices launched from Gaza that damaged homes in Southern Israel. The International rights groups and UN have condemned Israel for using excessive force on Palestinians.

Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu Again Warns Hamas, But Will Tel-Aviv Prevail?

Eyewitnesses in Gaza said: “a position of Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas rulers, was targeted in western Deir al Balah, south of Gaza city late Wednesday”. There were no reports of casualties in Gaza.

Israel says the strikes were in response to balloons with dangerous or explosive devices attached to them drifting into Israeli territory. One balloon damaged an Israeli house after it exploded in the air. For a long time, Palestinians have been protesting on the border with Israel against the attack.

In the past 10 years, Israel has launched three brutal assaults on Gaza. Since March 2018, at least 251 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli snipers during border protests conducted in a peaceful way. The United States and International rights groups have condemned Israel for using disproportionate force on Palestinians. The report presented by the UN commission of inquiry set up by the world body’s Human Rights Council said: “The Israeli security forces killed and maimed Palestinian demonstrators who did not pose an imminent threat of death or serious injury to others when they were shot, nor were they directly participating in hostilities.”

“An explosive balloon launched from the Gaza Strip damaged a house in an Israeli community, apparently after exploding in the air. In response, IDF fighter jets and attack helicopters struck a number of terror targets in a Hamas military compound in the central Gaza Strip”, the army said in a statement.
