Kashmiri Netizens Question Why No Media War on Killing of 4 BSF Soldiers in Chhattisgarh?

Four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and two others injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on Thursday. The netizens, especially from Jammu and Kashmir questioned why there is no uproar in the media on the killing of BSF troopers in Chhattisgarh just like Kashmir.

“One jawan of the 114 battalion of BSF died while two others sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out between the security forces and Naxals,” DIGP Anti Naxal Operation P Sundarraj told ANI. The news agency later updated the tweet and said that four BSF jawans had lost their lives in the encounter.

A BSF official said the domination patrol of 114 Battalion deployed in Pakhanjur in Chhattisgarh was targeted by the Naxals at 11.45 am. The official added that injured BSF personnel were being evacuated. The area has also been cordoned off.

On March 31, three Naxals including a woman were arrested in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district while they were allegedly planning to plant bombs to target security personnel during the Lok Sabha polls, a police official said Sunday.

Explosives, including a `tiffin bomb’ and three grenade-headed arrows were recovered from them, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava had said. Acting on specific information, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and District Force of the police arrested Bhima Potam (23), Aaytu Atra (25) and Lachhi Atra (33), a woman, from Raja Bangla area Saturday evening, he said.

Kashmiri netizens have repeatedly criticized that any mishap in Kashmir is taken out of proposition while any incidents in other parts of the country does not draw media attention. A terrorist is a terrorist – be it in Kashmir or Chhattisgarh – a netizen commented.
