Women loses her Job for ‘Middle Finger Salute’ to Donald Trump

Juli Briskman, a 50-year-old woman gave US president Donald Trump the ‘Middle Finger Salute’ as his motorcade passed her while she was cycling on a road near her golf club.

Juli, a mother of two, said to Huff Post “He was passing by and my blood just started to boil, I’m thinking, he’s at the damn golf course again”

The obscene gesture by the Mother was captured by photographer Brendan Smialowski (who was traveling with Trump’s convoy) on 28 October. The pic quickly went viral which eventually cost Juli Briskman her job.

The president was traveling to his Trump National Golf Club near the Potomac River, about 40 kilometers northwest of the White House.

Briskman, who also lives nearby was out for a Saturday bike ride when the convoy of black SUVs drove past. Photographer Smialowski said he always keeps his camera ready for a perfect shot. “You never know what you might see. You never know what might happen,” he said.

Gestures from bystanders, thumbs up or middle fingers, are common. This time, the photographer knew who exactly was inside those vehicles.

“What made this particular cyclist unique was her tenacity — once the motorcade passed her, she managed to catch back up and share her feelings again,” he said.

The photo only showed Briskman from the back, unidentifiable, her left arm out and middle finger up. She realized that she was the person in the photo which were making headlines all over the internet and television. She posted the photograph on her Facebook and Twitter pages as her profile pic.

It isn’t known whether Trump saw the gesture. But Briskman’s boss at Akima LLC wasn’t pleased with this incident. The boss is a builder works for the US government and military.

Three days later they told Briskman, who is a marketing officer that she had to go. “They said, ‘We’re separating from you,'” Briskman told HuffPost. “Basically, you cannot have ‘lewd’ or ‘obscene’ things on your social media. So they were calling flipping him off ‘obscene’.” Both Briskman and Akima could not be contacted early Monday for comment.
