Nikki Haley Will Not Run For US Presidency in 2020; Will Support Donald Trump

Nikki Haley, who resigned as US Permanent Representative to the United Nations on Tuesday, will not run for candidacy for the 2020 presidential election. She said this at a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

“I want to immediately answer the question about the presidential election in 2020,” she said. “No, I don’t intend to nominate a candidate in 2020. I will support the president in the next election.”

When asked about the reasons for his resignation, she stated that she was not leaving for personal reasons. “There are no personal reasons,” she continued. “I think it is very important for government officials to understand when it is time to leave office.” Haley did not announce her future plans.

Nikki Haley, who previously held the post of governor of South Carolina, was approved as the US Permanent Representative to the UN just four days after Trump assumed the presidency on January 20, 2017.
