Russia-India Partnership “Second to None”: Russian Envoy

Russian Ambassador to India  Nikolay Kudashev said on Wednesday that Russia’s partnership with India is the top-most priority and can not be compared to its relationship with Pakistan. Kudashev said that the purpose of Russian military exercises with Pakistan last month was to counter-terrorism cooperation.

While briefing reporters on the practice of the three forces that had recently concluded between Vladivostok and Russia, India said, “Our partnership with India is different, while there does exist general inter-country relations with Pakistan.”

Replying to a question on Russia’s military exercises that lasted two weeks with Pakistan near Minralney Vody city of Russia, the Russian ambassador said that there is no comparison between his relations with India and Pakistan. When asked about the possible practice of India, Japan, America, and Australia in terms of deeper cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, he said that Russia favors giving an opportunity to all stakeholders in the region.

He said that there should be an open cooperation between all the countries. When Kudashev was asked about China’s sign that it was again obstructing efforts of US, France, and Britain to declare Masood Azhar, the chief of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed and the conspirator of the Pathankot terrorist attack Masood Azhar, a global terrorist,  the Russian ambassador did not give any direct answer.
