Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi categorically refuted the speculation that Pakistan has shown its willingness to talk on the restoration of India-Afghanistan trade route using Pakistan’s land.
“Pakistan has not agreed to consider Afghanistan-India trade through our land,” the Foreign Office said while quoting Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
As reported by EurAsian Times earlier, Pakistan had approached Afghanistan earlier this year and expressed its eagerness to discuss the resumption of trade between Afghanistan and India via Pakistan through the land route, United States ambassador to Afghanistan John Bass told Indian Media in an interview.
This can be a massive development for India-Pakistan relations, given that Islamabad for years has blocked Indian goods to be transported to Afghanistan through its territory.
