Oshkosh Defense has won a $942.9 million US Army contract for the production, integration, engineering and logistical support, and fielding of Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System vehicles, the US Defense Department announced.
“Oshkosh Defense, Oshkosh, Wisconsin was awarded a $942.9 million… contract for procurement of the production, integration, engineering and logistical support, and fielding of Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System vehicles,” the Defense Department said in a press release on Thursday.
The Defense Department explained that bids for the contract were solicited via the internet with three received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of June 2, 2027.
The Stryker is a family of eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicles produced by General Dynamics Land Systems for the US Army. T
he vehicles include a new hull configuration, increased armor, upgraded suspension and braking systems, wider tires, blast-attenuating seats and a height management system, according to published reports.
