Pakistan Intensifies Diplomatic Struggle For ‘Independent Kashmir’

Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic operations forĀ ‘Independent Kashmir’ while supporting the people of Jammu and Kashmiri for their UN-recognized right of self-determination and free themselves of the brutal Indian occupation. This was stated by Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi of Pakistan

Pakistan Accuses New Delhi of Creating Terror Sanctuaries in India

Presiding over a meeting held at the Pakistan House to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, Lodhi paid rich tributes to the brave Kashmiri people, saying they have shown that ā€˜Right is Mightā€™, and defeated all Indian moves to suppress their determination for freedom.

The Pakistani envoy said that PM Imran Khanā€™s government would leave no stone unturned in seeking a peaceful settlement of the decades-old Kashmir dispute based on United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

ā€œFor us, every day is a day of solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who have launched a heroic struggle against Indian occupation,ā€ Ambassador Lodhi told the cheering audience.

ā€œThe dark and forbidding night of this brutal oppression is fleeting and will inevitably lead to the dawn of freedom and dignity,ā€ the Pakistani envoy said.Ā ā€œThis long night of oppression cannot last in the face of the courage of the people of Kashmirā€.Ā India, she added, had been frustrated in its effort to conceal the reality that Kashmir never was and would never be a part of India.

Briefing the participants about recent steps taken by the government to highlight the Kashmir dispute, Ambassador Lodhi said that during the recent visit of the President of the UN General Assembly to Pakistan, Maria Espinosa, the Kashmir issue was forcefully raised in all her meetings with Pakistan leadership, including President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

She also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had spoken by phone with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in the wake of atrocities carried out by Indian forces and called for renewed and sustained efforts by the UN for a just settlement of the dispute.

Peace in the region, she said, cannot be achieved without resolution of the Kashmir dispute, and that PakistanĀ would continue to extend diplomatic, political and moral support to the legitimate cause of the Kashmiri people.

Ambassador Lodhi also highlighted the landmark report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights that detailed systematic violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir. The report, she said, has also been endorsed by UN chief, who had termed it as the ā€œvoiceā€ of the world body.

ā€œThe time had come for the reportā€™s recommendation for an independent commission of inquiry to be implemented,ā€ she said.Ā She said that international public opinion was sympathetic to the Kashmiri cause. ā€œThe challenge now is to turn this public goodwill into a political expression of supportā€, she added.

The event was attended by members of Kashmiri and Pakistani community leaders who also spoke about Indian atrocities in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to raise its voice against the grave human rights situation in the occupied territory.

The acting Consul General Naeem Iqbal Cheema read out the message of President Alvi, while Pakistan Mission Counsellor Saad Warraich delivered the prime minister message.

The Pakistani members urged members of the community to play their role to raise awareness about the Kashmir dispute. ā€œThe people in occupied Kashmir look up to their diaspora communities as their voice of conscience to the international community.ā€

A photo exhibition was also organized depicting the barbarity of human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and a documentary highlighting the Kashmiri peopleā€™s struggle for their inalienable rights was also screened.
