Pakistan has been accused by all three nations that it shares its border with – Iran, India and Afghanistan of harbouring, financing and encouraging terrorism as a state-sponsored policy. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister of Iran – Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Pakistan capital Islamabad to inquire about the fate of the Iranian border guards who were kidnapped by Pakistan-based “Sunni” terrorists near the Iran-Pakistan border.

Upon arrival in the Pakistani capital early Wednesday, Zarif said, “There is a need for unswerving negotiation with Pakistani officials so that the abductees’ return to their homeland can be secured.” Pakistani officials have assured that Islamabad would exert every effort to secure the release of the kidnapped Iranians, he added.
“Iran and Pakistan are two very good neighbors, and Tehran enjoys good relations with Islamabad. We consult with them on all matters,” the Iranian top diplomat.
Earlier, Iran confirmed that its border guards have been abducted by Jaish ul-Adl, a Sunni terror in Pakistan- in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan on the porous border with Pakistan.
IRGC spokesman, Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, told IRNA on Monday that 12 border guards have been kidnapped, rejecting earlier reports about the abduction of 14 forces.
The Pakistan-based terrorist group – Jaish ul-Adl posted two photos on its social media channel and claimed responsibility for the abduction of 12 Iranian border guards, including IRGC and Army forces, near the town of Mirjaveh on the Pakistani border.
Pakistan has been repeatedly accused of sponsoring terrorism in Afghanistan via the Taliban and Haqqani Network who have ravaged the nation with suicide bombings and regular targetting of the civilians and defence officers. India, on the other hand, has been more vocal and aggressive in blaming Pakistan sponsored terrorists of creating unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
