Pakistan Upset, China State TV Shows Entire J&K as Part of India

China’s state-run television CGTN has depicted Pakistan-Controlled-Kashmir as a part of India. The Chinese state media is considered the mouthpiece of the communist regime in Beijing and this depiction of Jammu and Kashmir is bound to upset the Pakistan government.

Norwegian PM Who Brokered LTTE Peace Deal Meets Kashmiri Separatist

The picture of the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir by China’s state-run television was displayed while reporting the terror attack on Chinese consulate last Friday.

Experts that EurAsian Times talked to stated that it is not clear whether this was a deliberate attempt by Beijing to please India or it was an error. However, this will surely provoke Islamabad and the Pakistan Army.

Showing entire state of Jammu and Kashmir as part of India will also have implications for China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC). India has strong reservations on CPEC as it infringes its sovereignty.

CGTN, formerly known as CCTV-9 and CCTV News, is a Chinese international English-language news channel of the State-owned China Global Television Network group, part of the China Central Television, based in Beijing.

Further reaction from Pakistan is awaited.
