Speaking in the Senate, Qureshi reportedly said that Pakistan neither desires “any security role of India in Afghanistan” nor wants the presence of militant organisations — Al-Qaeda and the ISIS — in the country, TheNation reported. The foreign minister told the Upper House that India had always played the role of a spoiler, the report said.

Meanwhile, gunmen attacked a ceremony in Kabul on Friday where Abdullah Abdullah, was present. At least 27 people were killed and 29 others wounded at the event, according to Afghan officials, the first big attack on the capital since a troop withdrawal agreement was signed last week in Doha.

The Taliban said in a statement they were not involved in the attack. The gathering marked the anniversary of the death of Abdul Ali Mazari, an ethnic Hazara leader who was killed in 1995 after being taken prisoner by the Taliban.
