Pakistani Army Using Social Media To Lure Kashmiri Youths To Pick Guns: Indian General

Pakistan Army is using social media sites to provoke Kashmiri youths to pick guns and join militancy. India’s top general, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh raised concern about Pakistan Army ploy of disturbing peace in the Kashmir valley through the exploitation of youth via social media platforms.

India’s top general stated that the PoK and Pakistan territory accommodate terrorists. Pakistan is affecting Kashmiri people’s opinion to disrupt peace in the valley. Indian Lt General Ranbir Singh emphasised saying, “It is a matter of concern for us. We are seized of this concern.”

The general put light on the fact that the Pakistani army is making use of social media to reach Kashmiri youth and compelling them to join militancy.“Radicalization is not only a concern in India but a global concern,” Singh said.

In an interaction with media, Singh said that the Indian Army is equipped with powerful counter-terrorism capabilities to resist terrorism which is also evolving with the time. Indian Army is also using technology and artificial intelligence in order to protect youth from Pakistani Army propaganda. “I am hopeful that in the coming year, we will be able to see peace, prosperity, and development in the state,” he added.

The top general also explained that the surgical strikes on terrorist bases were conducted to show that the Indian army has the capability to do acts that can’t be predicted. Replying to the questions raised on the probe of sepoy Aurangzeb’s killing in south Kashmir, the general said: “We got information that one or two jawans intentionally or unknowingly passed information about his movement.”
