Indian Army Claims to have Eliminated 7 Pakistani Soldiers Along LoC

7 Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed by the Indian Army on Monday, Jan 15th in what is said to be ‘retaliatory action’ in Mendhar, Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir. The Indian Army confirmed the news that comes days after the demise of an Indian soldier during cross firing between India and Pakistan. The two neighbouring nations have placed blames on each other for ceasefire violations.

ISPR, Pakistan Army’s publicity wing, said Indian soldiers fired a heavy mortar round on the Pakistani soldiers in Jandrot, PoK, who were busy with line communication maintenance. The wing further added that the exchange of fire also claimed three lives on the Indian side while injuring a few others. Pak government also took to Twitter to confirm four deaths on their side in the Jandrot-Kotli sector.

ISPR’s claim of three deaths and several injuries on Indian soil was refuted by a senior Indian Army official from the Northern Command. While maintaining anonymity, the official said that 7 Pak soldiers were killed in the firing that began at 9 am on Monday morning. He further added that both the nations used heavy calibre weapons, however, the Indians remained safe without any casualties.

Retaliation against Pakistani Soldiers

The senior official said the firing from Indian Army could be seen as a retaliatory action against the January 13 attack by Pak on the part of an Indian patrol in Sunderbani that claimed the life of Lance Naik Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadhane who belonged to Khalane village, Dhule, Maharashtra. In anoth, r event the security forces also eliminated at least 5 individuals who are suspected to be from the infamous JeM. The officials confirmed that the five were trying to cross over the borders with plans of a suicide mission.

Indian Army Will Not Stand and Watch!

Indian Army chief Gen. Bipin Rawat said Indian forces will leave no stone unturned in its mission to teach Pak a lesson for aiding and helping militants to cross over from LoC. He added that the Pak posts being used for the same are being monitored and targeted by the Indian Army. If needed the Indian Army will not stop from using a castigatory action against Pak, Gen. Rawat said.
