Syrian Situation
Putin and Macron also discussed the situation in Syria, including the creation of de-escalation zones and a political settlement in that country. “Both sides noted the need to further promote the political settlement of the Syrian crisis, and expressed readiness to increase Russian-French coordination, including within the framework of the Geneva process under the auspices of the United Nations,” the report said.

As a result of the telephone conversation, both Putin and Macron agreed to intensify contacts on the international and bilateral agenda “at both the higher and the other levels.”
“School truce” in Ukraine
Touching upon the situation in Ukraine, the heads of the two countries noted the importance of strict observance of the so-called “school armistice”. The telephone conversation between Putin and Macron also noted the importance of full and unreserved compliance by all the parties involved.
