Russia, Thailand Agree To Boost Defence Relations: Sergey Lavrov

Russia and Thailand have agreed to promote defence relations especially in the field of technology while addressing new threats and potential challenges. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov after his talks with Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai.

“Today, we have confirmed our readiness to deepen cooperation against new threats and challenges as well as to develop defense and military-technical cooperation,” Lavrov said.

The Russian top diplomat focused on both countries’ dialogue at the United Nations. “We are grateful to Thailand for voting in support of a wide range of Russian initiatives, including the resolutions against the glorification of Nazism, on international cybersecurity, on building trust in outer space along with [a resolution] against the deployment of weapons into space,” he stressed.

“Also, we would like to point out that Thailand is not associated with some provocative anti-Russian initiatives which are occasionally brewing at the United Nations,” Lavrov added.
