Russian Air Force To Hold Massive Drills With Latest Fighter Jets Inc Su-57, Su-35 and Su-30SM – Commander

The Russian Air Force will hold large-scale military drills which will involve more than 450 aircraft including the latest Su-57, Su-35 and Su-30SM, Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Sergey Dronov said.

“At the end of August, at the airfields of the Western Military District, an exercise has been planned for special types of support for the Aerospace Forces, during which preparation for tasks for aviation units of all types of aircraft, including for the first time long-range and unmanned aircraft, will be practiced. Over 450 planes will be involved in the drills,” Lt. Gen. Dronov said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

According to Dronov, the exercise will for the first time see the military repair of aviation equipment carried out by mobile technical and operational units with the involvement of repair teams from industrial enterprises, including on the airfield section of the road.

Lt. Gen. Dronov said that in 2021 the Air Force will receive more than 60 new aviation aircraft including modern Su-30SM, Su-35S, Su-57 multipurpose aircraft and Su-34 frontline bombers, as well as Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft, Mi-28NM, Ka-52 combat helicopters.

In addition, the troops will receive more than 200 upgraded planes.
