Salman Khan Raises Pakistan Flag on Indian Soil; Locals Vandalise Sets, Crew Flees

Why did Bollywood Actor – Salman Khan need to raise the Pakistani Flag? Salman Khan has landed himself in yet another controversy after using the Pakistan flag for one of his scenes in his upcoming movie Bharat. Criticised for hoisting the flag on Indian soil, a police complaint has been filed against the Bollywood actor.

The film’s team wanted to shoot a sequence at the India-Pakistan border at Wagah, which, however, could not be possible due to security reasons, reported International Business Times.

Thus, film-maker Ali Abbas Zafar opted for a village in Punjab where they recreated the India-Pakistan border. Everything was perfect until the crew put up the Pakistan flag on the land. The villagers got extremely upset and filed a complaint against Salman Khan.

“Many local bodies were shocked about how someone could hoist Pakistan’s flag on Indian soil. We have had such issues earlier in Kashmir and in Mumbai before and during the Indo-Pak cricket matches”.

“Even though this is just a movie-shoot, local organisations are upset and have filed a police complaint against Salman Khan. They also surrounded the sets of Bharat and the hotel where Salman was staying. The report added that sensing a hostile situation, Salman Khan and the rest of the Bharat team quickly wrapped up the shooting and left for Mumbai.
