Shopian Encounter – Indian Security Forces Kill 3 Militants in Shopian Encounter Today

In the Shopian Encounter today i.e 28th March, three militants were killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces in Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The identities of militants killed in the Shopian Encounter killed is yet to be ascertained. Weapons were also recovered from the encounter site.

The encounter in Kellar area in the south Kashmir district started early this morning after a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police were attacked by terrorists during a search operation in the area.

“Hiding terrorists opened fire at the security forces in Yarwan village of Keller area during a cordon and search operation. Three terrorists were killed in the resulting encounter,” a police officer told news agency IANS.

Meanwhile, another encounter is taking place at Handwara in Kupwara district. The gunfight is taking place at Yaroo area in Handwara, informed Jammu and Kashmir police.

The entire area is under cordon, reported news agency ANI.
