Sopore Encounter – 2 Militants Killed in Sopore Encounter; Riyaz Naikoo Not Killed

Sopore Encounter – Two terrorists were gunned down in Sopore encounter today with the Indian security forces in Dangerpora area of Sopore in Baramulla.

According to local reports, additional reinforcements of Army and Special Operation Group (SOG) were rushed to the Dangerpora village as the encounter between the security forces and the militants intensified.

Earlier, Army’s 22 RR and SOG have launched a cordon-and-search operation at Bunpora area of Dangerpora village following specific information about the presence of the terrorists inside a residential house. The authorities have suspended internet services in Sopore town as a precautionary measure in the wake of this search operation.

Riyaz Naikoo Manages To Escapes From Kulgam Encounter; Shelf-Life Limited – Experts Warn

Many netizens claimed that top Kashmiri militant Riyaz Naikoom had been trapped and killed which turned out to be false. Riyaz Naikoo was earlier also believed to be trapped in the Kulgam Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.

However, three militants, including Riyaz Naikoo reportedly managed to escape with intense stone pelting from the locals. The encounter was called-off, but defence experts have warned that Naikoo will be hunted soon, unless he comes out and surrenders, which appears unlikely.
