An early morning encounter broke out in Sopore of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district which has reportedly resulted in the killing of one militant so far.
The joint operation by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police have trapped a group of militants around 4-5 in numbers. The heavy exchange of firing from both sides is still ongoing while security forces have cordoned off the area in Arampora.
On a credible input operation was launched at Arampora by Police and SF last night. Exchange of fire started sometime back. Two to Four terrorists reported to be present.

According to police, at least 2 to 4 militants were trapped in the building.

Indian security forces with the contingents of Army’s 22 RR, 179 CRPF and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police have cordoned off Gulababad area of Arampora, Sopore. The soldiers have placed lights at the location to prevent militants from escaping in the dark.
A police official while confirming the CASO operation in the area said that group of militants are believed to be hiding inside the area. As the forces launched the search operation, the militants opened fire upon them, resulting in an encounter.
