Earlier, Taiwan’s President accused the Chinese PLA of wilfully inciting tensions after Chinese jets crossed the median line across the narrow strait that separates the mainland and Taiwan almost 40 times.

“What we are seeing now is not just a situation across the Taiwan Strait, but a regional situation. China’s recent military activities, especially in the past few days, clearly constitute a threat of force, which is part of their verbal attacks and military threats (against Taiwan),” President Tsai Ing-wen told reporters.

As China continues to intimidate Taiwan by sending fighter jets and strategic bombers into the country’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ), YhaooNews writes that many people are worried that a China-Taiwan war could be near.

People have already started to come up with strategies on how to stay safe during a possible Chinese missile strike or air raids. These topics, as per reports, have become a hot topic on the country’s social media platforms.

According to Sung Chao-wen, if the little island nation comes under attack and one if caught out in the open, people must lay down on their hands and knees, with their chest away from the ground, to avoid a back-blast from the missile explosion.

If indoors, people must quickly take cover by getting under a sturdy desk or table and keep their mouths slightly open to block the eardrums from rupturing due to the pressure of the blast.

Sung also suggested people must prepare emergency knapsacks and place valuables, essential food items inside. He added those who wish to remain indoors should tape up their windows so that it does not get shattered during an explosion.

As for the best hiding spot in a house, Sung stated that the bathrooms are usually in the centre of the house with no windows. In addition, the plumbing within the walls can help add structural strength to the washroom and shield people during the bombing.
