Immediately after the attack, the city authorities demanded that all shops in the city be closed immediately. In addition, an evacuation was carried out from the largest department store of the city “Court Inglez” and some metro stations were closed.

The media also received information that the alleged terrorist took refuge in one of the restaurants and seized the hostages. However, this data was not confirmed. “In no bar in Barcelona, there is no barricade … We consider the attack an act of terrorism,” – said in a police report published on Twitter.
