The UAE Monitoring Situation In Kashmir; Calls For Restraint

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Thursday that it is monitoring with concern the developments in Jammu and Kashmir and is calling for all parties in the conflict to exercise restraint.

In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, emphasised “the need to use dialogue for maintaining peace, security and stability in the region.”

Gargash also expressed his country’s trust in India and Pakistan’s ability to “overcome this crisis through communication and constructive dialogue, away from escalation and confrontation.”

Earlier, the ambassador of UAE to India stated that Kashmir is an internal matter for India and the move was not a unique incident.

Barring Pakistan and China, India has not really faced any credible opposition from the international community over the Jammu and Kashmir move. The Indian External Affairs claimed to have briefed the envoys of the P5 nations about the need to and the execution of its government’s recent moves relating to Kashmir.
