Turkish President Erdogan Postpones His Visit To Pakistan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s scheduled visit to Pakistan has been postponed, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal confirmed on Thursday hours after a Turkish diplomat tweeted about the development.

Erdogan postponed his visit to Pakistan scheduled for later this month amid the ongoing military conflict in northern Syria. The visit was scheduled to be held on 23 and 24 October. Erdogan was to travel to Islamabad to cement relations between the two countries.

The FO spokesperson added that a new date for the visit is yet to be determined. While Dr Faisal did not provide any reasons for the postponement, Turkey is currently occupied with a military offensive against Kurdish fighters in Syria which has raised tensions with Washington and other Western nations.
