UAE, Saudi Deflate India-Pakistan Tensions to Secure their Economic & Political Investments

Saudi Arabia and UAE played a decisive role to deflate tensions between India and Pakistan. Both Saudi Arabia and the UAE and strong allies of both the nations and conflict between India and Pakistan could have hampered their economic and political interest in the region.

The Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, tweeted informing that he had made “telephone calls to the Indian and Pakistani Prime Ministers”, emphasizing the “importance of dealing wisely with recent developments and giving priority to dialogue and communication”.

The Emirati official sources said: “In his conversations with PM Khan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Crown Prince emphasised that both countries de-escalate and open channels of communication, including regular bilateral dialogue so that outstanding issues could be addressed”.

The Crown Prince informed two leaders that the United Arab Estates support better ties between both countries for ensuring peace and stability in the region. The crown prince also expressed the hope that both countries would engage in dialogue to address their problems.

According to the PM office, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan received a telephonic call from UAE Crown Prince Zayed who praised Pakistan’s PM saying, ” Khan’s statesman-like speech in a joint session of parliament as well as his willingness to resolve all issues in a peaceful manner”.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also called Prime Minister Khan and congratulated the prime minister on his speech at parliament and his statesman-like offers to India for de-escalating the situation and working towards peace.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign affairs, Adel al Jubeir, will visit Pakistan with an important message from the Crown Prince, MBS. Meanwhile, the Saudi envoy to India also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yesterday.
