UAE To Execute Pakistani Man Charged With Raping and Killing Nephew

The death sentence ruling of the killer of a Pakistani boy has been submitted to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan for approval, Khaleej Times reported on Sunday.

The capital punishment was upheld earlier by the Abu Dhabi Court of Cassation. The court has also cancelled a previous judgment which allowed the convict to pay the blood money, the execution will be implemented based on Islamic laws, according to a report.

The convict murdered an 11-year-old boy named Azan while disguised as a woman wearing a burqa. In April last year, an appeals court in Abu Dhabi upheld the death sentence given to a Pakistani man who raped and killed his 11-year old nephew in the capital city of the UAE.

Mohsen Bilal, the 34-year-old accused who was termed ‘wild beast’ by the public prosecution, was earlier awarded death sentence by the Abu Dhabi criminal court of first instance, according to Gulf News.

He has also been ordered to pay Dh200,000 (approximately Rs6.3 million) as blood money to the victim’s family. The body of the 11-year-old was found on the rooftop of his building in May 2017. He went missing after he left his house to go to the mosque for evening prayer.
