In the video, the soldiers can be seen singing ‘Bharat tujhe naman naman shukriya, aur Chin se ladne ka diya mukaam (India, thank you, and giving us a platform to fight China).”
The lyrics of the song in Hindi included: “Mai hoon Tibet ka ek niwasi, Bharat Maa ko apna manta hoon (I am a resident of Tibet, I consider Mother India as my own.),” said the ANI report. Other soldiers can be heard cheering and clapping for the performance.
A Special Frontier Force or the SFF which is also known as the Vikas battalion is one of the most ‘mysterious’ armed units of India. The SFF undertook a covert operation for the Indian Army capturing strategic heights in the Ladakh region at the contested area of Pangong Tso, on the intervening night of 29-30 August.
Describing the incident, Colonel Aman Anand (PRO, Indian Army) had said, “Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the southern bank of Pangong Tso lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on the ground.”
India and China have been engaged in a standoff for months now after the flare-up in June where the two sides got into the worst brawl in four decades that lead to 20 Indian casualties and an undisclosed number of the Chinese side.
Both the sides are participating in the disengagement process through military commands and diplomatic channels, hoping for a complete disengagement in the region.
