Preparations are being made to welcome the US President in India in the same manner as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed in the US. In view of this, the ‘Kem Cho Trump’ event is planned on the lines of ‘Howdy Modi’ which will take places in The World’s Biggest Cricket Stadium i.e. Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium. In the Gujarati language, ‘chem chomp’ means: how are you?
Trump had said jokingly at a press conference in the US he would not ‘feel good’ as the PM had told him there would be five to seven million people to welcome him from the airport to the new stadium.
In September last year, Indian Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump jointly addressed about 50 thousand Americans and people of Indian origin in Houston. There is a plan to do something similar in Ahmedabad.
According to the report of local newspapers of Gujarat, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly can also be present on this occasion. Apart from Sourav Ganguly, in view of the possibility of the presence of a large number of people, the city authorities have been instructed to arrange traffic and parking facilities.
The World’s Biggest Cricket Stadium Build At $100 Million
The soon to be inaugurated stadium was built at an estimated amount of US$ 100 million and is set to replace the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as the largest cricket stadium in the world.
The ground will not only be used for cricket and just like the MCG, but it will also be used for a variety of sports including football, hockey, basketball, athletics etc.
Apart from the roads getting a make-over, the entire route from the airport to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium will be decorated with flower pots. Earlier the BCCI had decided to host an Asian XI vs World XI match to inaugurate the World’s Biggest Cricket Stadium but the plan was scrapped after delays in the completion of the work.
