At least 10 Pakistan Army soldiers, including a captain, were killed in separate attacks on patrolling party in the highly volatile regions of North Waziristan and Balochistan.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists opened fire at a border patrolling party near Gurbaz area in North Waziristan killing many soldiers. The martyred soldiers according to ISPR included Havaldar Khalid, Sepoy Naveed, Sepoy Bachal, Sepoy Ali Raza, Sepoy M Babar and Sepoy Ahsan.
In a separate attack, four personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred when terrorists attacked their convoy in the Hushab and Turbat areas of Balochistan. Martyrs include Captain Aqib, Sepoy Nadir, Sepoy Atif Altaf and Sepoy Hafeezullah.
DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor condemned the attack saying that this was the sacrifice Pakistan was making for the country. He said that while the security of tribal areas has been improved, efforts need to be made to ‘solidify border’.
He further added that inimical forces are attempting to destabilise Balochistan. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan also condemned the terror attack in Balochistan on the FC convoy.
“Coward terrorists have once again attacked the security forces that are making endless sacrifices for our country,” he said. Provincial Minister of Balochistan for Information Zahoor Buledi mourned the loss of the captain along with two sepoys who hailed from Swabi and Mastung.
