The Russian-origin single-seat, twin-engine Su-57 multirole aircraft has been designed to destroy all types of air, ground, and naval targets. While the fighter jet took its maiden flight 10 years ago, it has still not entered service.

Considered the most advanced fighter made to date in Russia, the Su-57s possess supercruise, supermaneuverability, and advanced avionics to surpass the capabilities of the prior generation fighters.

The fighter jet makes use of advanced stealth technology; it also has state-of-the-art radio-electronic equipment, including a powerful computer (the so-called electronic second pilot).

Moreover, the Su-57 is equipped with a radar system which is spread across its body and armaments placed inside its fuselage. Among the weapons it carries are hypersonic missiles, making the fighter truly lethal in every sense.

According to Sergei Chemezov, head of the state-owned corporation Rostec, the first serial-produced Su-57 with the first-stage engine would arrive by the end of 2020, whereas the first Su-57 with the advanced second engine, will be assembled in 2022.
