Hong Kong Rioters Behind The Deadly Protests In The US – Chinese State Media

As expected, China isn’t missing out on the opportunity to target the US over the handling of the ongoing protests around the country over the killing of an African American man by a police officer.

China Expanding ‘Military Arsenal’ In High Altitude Border Regions To Address Threats

Chinese officials and the state media are calling out on the US’s hypocrisy as the Trump administration earlier vehemently supported the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, took to twitter to and wrote “I can’t breathe” in a reply to her American counterpart criticizing China’s crackdown on Hong Kong.

This came after violent protests erupted across cities in the US after the police killing of George Floyd, a 46-year old African American man. Police arrested Floyd outside a convenience store after a report of a counterfeit bill being passed.

In a video recorded by a witness, an officer kneels on Floyd’s neck, and he was heard pleading that he couldn’t breathe until he slowly stopped talking and moving.

The US’s House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi described the Hong Kong protests last year against the extradition law introduced by Beijing as “a beautiful sight to behold”. In response to this, an editorial in the Chinese state mouthpiece Global Times (GT) questioned that “When the bill was officially withdrawn, why did the protesters still take to the street?

But the US government and Congress, as well as the UK, simply lent a helping hand to violent demonstrations which had nothing to do with their initial objectives and praised them as a “beautiful sight to behold.”

GT’s editor in chief Hu Xijin took a dig at the US politicians saying that they can “now can enjoy this sight from their own windows”.

The protests that started in Minneapolis, Minnesota have now spread across the US. Yesterday, the demonstrators gathered outside the White House in Washington, DC. According to White House officials, President Donald Trump was taken to an underground bunker for some time.

Chinese media is on a bashing spree and is continuously targeting the US as a counter to the rising tensions between the two global powers. In another edition of the GT, it questioned the deeply ingrained disrespect for the minorities and its effect in the US, especially during a pandemic.

“President Trump acknowledged African Americans are disproportionately getting sick and dying of COVID-19, but he made no apparent efforts to tackle the exacerbating racial disparities. This is in line with his habitual “speaking loud but acting little”.

Japan Desperate To Protect Itself From China, Russia, Korea & Rising Sea Levels

China’s move is seen as a way to divert attention from its own government’s treatment of Hong Kong and protesters in the city. Last year, the protesters clashed with the authorities on several occasions resulting in two deaths.

Beijing has regularly blamed “foreign forces”, including the US for inciting and driving the Hong Kong protests.

Xijin sarcastically said that Hong Kong protesters are behind the ongoing protests in the US. He added that “Hong Kong rioters have infiltrated American states. Attacking police stations, smashing shops, blocking roads, breaking public facilities, these are all routine in their protests.

Vicious Hong Kong rioters obviously are the mastermind of violent protests across the US,” in a series of tweets.  Xijin raised questioned the US politicians about how they could define the disturbances in other countries as “beautiful sights”. “It is stupid to do so simply because they want to attack China,” he added.
